About The Position

Client is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer (Sr NE) to implement and provide support to the agency's IT Network infrastructure. The Sr NE performs day-to-day activities related to the support, documentation, research, analysis, and implementation of Client Network related infrastructure. Candidate must have in-depth, considerable knowledge and hands-on experience understanding, documenting, and maintaining Network related infrastructure.

Requirements

• In-depth, considerable knowledge and hands-on experience understanding, documenting, and maintaining Network related infrastructure.
• Considerable knowledge and working experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers.
• Ability to document, set up, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers.
• Ability to troubleshoot Network related infrastructure.
• Ability to identify and diagnose system problems by using line monitors, diagnostic software, test equipment.
• Ability to work closely with agency's IT infrastructure suppliers and stakeholders to gather requirements, specifications, and configurations.
• Ability to assist in troubleshooting and resolving network issues impacting application performance and uptime.
• Ability to oversee the installation, documentation, and upgrades of various agency facility data network infrastructure.
• Ability to oversee and collaborate with cloud and DevSecOps teams to optimize hybrid connectivity and SDWAN configurations.
• Ability to provide documentation, network architecture topology diagrams, IP schemes, firewall rules, and access controls.
• Ability to work independently on assigned projects.
• Minimally obtained an industry standard networking certification (example: Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA- Junos, etc.).
• Considerable knowledge and hands-on working experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Considerable hands-on working experience setting up, configuring, upgrading, managing and troubleshooting routers/switches, and WAPS.
• Demonstrated and hands-on ability to design, install and troubleshoot local-area and wide-area enterprise networks.
• Considerable direct hands-on experience engineering and design experience in networking industry.
• In-depth experience designing installing and troubleshooting local-area and wide-area enterprise networks.
• Experience monitoring IT environments for compliance with information security, architecture policies, and standards.
• Experience creating repeatable, reliable, scalable network architectures with fault tolerance.
• Experience performance tuning, monitoring systems, statistics/metrics collection, and disaster recovery.
• Experience creating network diagrams using industry standard tools such as Visio, etc.
• Experience with networking features and protocols such as: ARP, CDP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VTP, Etherchannel, HSRP, QoS, multicast, IPsec, etc.

• Experience working with SDWAN
• Experience working with network topology related to Cloud
• Familiarity and experience working with cloud networking

Responsibilities
