About The Position

SMX is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for the Pacific region, a critical leadership role supporting DoD medical facilities across the Pacific. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining highly complex LAN/WLAN/WAN network infrastructures that are vital to military healthcare operations. The Senior Network Engineer serves as the regional authority on network operations, leading the resolution of sophisticated technical challenges across all OSI model layers while ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance with DoD and DHA standards. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF), cybersecurity (firewalls, VPNs, Zero Trust), and infrastructure management tools (SolarWinds, ARMIS, Ansible) with strong leadership abilities to guide network specialists and collaborate across military and contractor organizations. This role requires a bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience (or vocational certification with 10+ years), IAM Level III certification per DoD 8570.01, CCNP and CISSP certifications, and proven expertise in Cisco Systems, Windows environments, and DoD healthcare systems. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned network professional to make a meaningful impact on military medical mission readiness throughout the Pacific theater.
