About The Position

Peraton is seeking a talented Network Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA to assist with the client’s complex infrastructure, with expertise spanning multiple critical domains, including custom cross-domain architecture. Your work will focus on designing, engineering and implementation of complex mission networks. You will develop and maintain a deep understanding of the intricacies and interdependencies within these systems, enabling informed decision-making and providing strategic guidance. You will spend a significant amount of time dedicated towards assisting improving reliability in each of the systems and researching root-cause of Tier 2 related tickets. You will foster collaborative partnerships across functional teams and identify opportunities to build efficiencies into innovative IT systems that support the cyber mission systems. You will be required to participate in the 24/7 duty phone rotation – estimated at 3x per year.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA in a relevant technical discipline; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with PhD.
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, with polygraph.
  • 5+ years in Network Engineering (LAN/WAN, Communications, Computer Systems, Cross Domain), Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong background in CI/CD in relationship to Cross Domain Solutions and general software development.
  • Sound judgement, problem solving, and decision-making skills with an ability to adapt to emerging issues and changing priorities under short deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and stay abreast of leading-edge technologies.
  • Experience with network security technologies, such as: Firewalls (configuration, rule management), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Secure network architecture design.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), architectures (LAN, WAN, WLAN), and devices (routers, switches, firewalls).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with both on-premise and cloud deployment technologies and automation.
  • Detailed oriented, organized, able to multitask, and adaptable to shifting requirements.
  • Flexibility – works well both independently and as a team player; must be eager to learn.
  • Candidate should be a self-starter and possess a willingness to dive into new technologies when appropriate.
  • Experience implementing and documenting standard operating procedures of systems or networks (e.g., Linux, Window, Cloud platforms etc.).
