Senior Network Engineer
About The Position
Acture Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their Professional Services team. This role involves working with a variety of clients, technologies, and infrastructure projects, offering a dynamic and challenging environment. The engineer will be responsible for designing secure enterprise networks, deploying firewalls, leading infrastructure upgrades, and mentoring junior engineers, playing a key role in modernizing and securing IT environments. Requirements
- 6+ years of enterprise network engineering experience
- Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, ACLs, BGP, and OSPF
- Experience configuring and supporting Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, Aruba, Ubiquiti, or similar enterprise networking platforms
- Hands-on experience implementing and supporting firewalls and network security technologies
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, or similar platforms
- Excellent communication, documentation, and client relationship skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced consulting or managed services environment
- Valid driver's license with the ability and willingness to travel regularly to client locations
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification strongly preferred
- Additional certifications such as Fortinet NSE, PCNSE, Aruba Professional, or equivalent are a plus
- Experience supporting multiple client environments or managed service providers (MSPs)
- Experience with cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure environments
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing secure, scalable enterprise network solutions
- Deploying and supporting routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, VPNs, and related infrastructure
- Leading network refreshes, migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and modernization projects
- Performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex networking issues
- Optimizing network performance, availability, and security
- Conducting infrastructure assessments and recommending strategic improvements
- Collaborating with engineers, project managers, and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Creating technical documentation, implementation plans, and network diagrams
- Mentoring junior engineers and sharing technical expertise across the team
- Participating in scheduled after-hours maintenance windows when projects require minimal client disruption
