Requirements

  • 11+ years of experience in related fields
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Advanced degrees can be substituted in lieu of years of experience: 4+ Years with Master’s degree or 3+ Years with PhD)
  • Experience in CCNA or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Cisco
  • Working knowledge of the OSI model layers 1 through 3
  • Understanding of 802.1q VLAN tagging
  • Understanding the different media types, when to use which such as RJ-45, MMF, SMF

Responsibilities

  • Support the customer and numerous mission partners in building, designing networks, configuring and deploying various networking equipment throughout the lifecycle of routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during implementation.
  • Review all incoming requirements for feasibility of implementation on existing network infrastructure.
  • Work with an ITSM PM tool, ServiceNow, to manage projects, project tasks, setting deliverables and timelines, putting design and project work through engineering lifecycle and review boards.
  • Work with optical teams to ensure smooth circuit transitions.
