Senior Network Engineer/Architect (SME)
About The Position
KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. This position offers the opportunity to make a profound impact on national security by designing and optimizing defense systems. The Senior Network Engineer/Architect will provide technical guidance and direction for transport network design and engineering, network routing protocols, and advanced virtual networking technologies to support operations. The role involves establishing strategic network standards, planning large-scale projects, optimizing network system performance, overseeing network systems configuration, and designing, implementing, and maintaining hybrid cloud integration with multiple public cloud service providers, as well as identifying COMSEC security requirements.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience working as a Network Engineer/Architect
- Familiarity with DoD, IC, and inter-departmental/inter-agency collaboration
- Expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, BGP, etc.) and security standards
- Familiarity with DoD compliance frameworks
- Experience with enterprise-level network monitoring and management tools
- Experience in designing and defining system architecture for new or existing systems
- Master’s Degree in a related field REQUIRED
- Candidate must have a US Top Secret SCI security clearance with SAP experience
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction for transport network design and engineering, network routing protocols, advanced virtual networking technologies for missions to support operations
- Establish overall strategic network standards and priorities
- Plan large-scale projects through vendor comparison and cost studies
- Analyze the optimization of network system performance
- Oversee the strategic interface of network systems configuration
- Design and define system architecture for new or existing systems
- Design, implement, and maintain hybrid cloud integration with multiple public cloud service providers
- Identify COMSEC security requirements for the networks and platforms
