About The Position

The Columbia Program Office (CPO) supports various US Government entities. CPO specializes in IT solutions, network connectivity, cyber analysis, and solutions architectures for the IC and the DOD. The ECS portfolio recently increased it’s scope and is need of a multiple Senior Network Design Engineers. This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in a technical field is preferred, or an Associates with 5 years of applicable experience and/or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on configuration and real-world experience with enterprise class routers and switch product lines including Cisco and Juniper.
  • Type 1 Crypto equipment implementation and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to implement and troubleshoot commercial network security protocols (IPSEC, MACSEC).
  • Demonstrated expertise in supporting the WAN, MAN, CAN and LAN technologies.
  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot routing and switching protocols.
  • Understanding of enterprise management of converged networks, capacity planning, performance analysis and network tuning.
  • Ability to provide Tier 2 through 4 support.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Excellent organization skills to support work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, including ability to effectively perform tasks on schedule.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Cyber certifications.
  • Knowledge of AT&T operating methods and procedures.
  • Solarwinds experience.
  • Familiarity with Federal Government networks, and DOD technical requirements and is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert consultation and develop network designs for wireless, wireline, and broadband infrastructure, using engineering principles and approved guidelines to ensure robust, scalable, and efficient network solutions.
  • Develop and manage detailed network designs and architecture, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and creating specifications for network migrations.
  • Deploy network solutions, integrate new components, provide initial support, resolve system failures, and implement circuit provisioning standards.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance, assess client networks, make improvement recommendations, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain detailed records, ensure compliance with standards, author process documentation, methods, procedures, and use tools to create engineering documents.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors, manage projects from conception to completion, prepare cost/benefit estimates, and oversee presentations, negotiations, and installations.
