Senior Network & Communication Software Analyst

AIRO Group Holdings, Inc.Montreal, QC
CA$95,000 - CA$120,000Onsite

About The Position

As a Level 3 Senior Network & Communication Software Analyst, you are a core member of the execution tier, responsible for defining, implementing, and validating the aircraft’s onboard and offboard digital routing backbone. In this position, you will lead the configuration of deterministic network routing architectures, virtual private tunnel setups, and intelligent multi-link failover strategies. You will collaborate directly with software, avionics, and flight control teams to ensure dependable command-and-control datalinks and secure data transfer across public and private infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Proven background in designing, configuring, or debugging complex IP networks, software-defined routing infrastructure, or embedded network communication layers.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of multi-tier network concepts including TCP/IP, UDP, network tunneling, packet switching, and virtual routing networks.
  • Practical familiarity writing or adapting software within embedded Linux network layers, including driver debugging, network interface control, and sockets programming.
  • Direct exposure to real-time messaging structures, robotic serialization frameworks, or telemetry packets designed for safety-critical distributed automation.
  • Competency utilizing software analysis tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump to troubleshoot network congestion, dropped frames, and latency anomalies.
  • Demonstrated history implementing network security parameters, cryptographic encryption frameworks, or access control tables

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read, write, and understand French

Responsibilities

  • Implement and validate the aircraft's internal deterministic network layout, configuring managed Ethernet switches, VLAN segmentations, and high-speed CAN-FD data lines.
  • Establish secure, software-defined IP tunnels and encrypted virtual networks across disparate wireless data networks to shield ground-to-air communications.
  • Configure, modify, and optimize embedded Linux network stacks, socket behaviors, and underlying driver layers to support mission-critical, low-latency telemetry.
  • Integrate and test real-time communication messaging models to maintain standardized, robust packet parsing between the flight computer and ground stations.
  • Deploy traffic-shaping algorithms and packet-prioritization queues to ensure vital control messages maintain bandwidth precedence over non-critical high-rate payload video streams.
  • Construct and evaluate automated link monitoring and multi-path failover logic to execute seamless network hot-swaps during signal degradation or dropouts.
  • Author testing scripts, manage network routing configuration tables, and update verification documentation to back type-certification objectives.
