  • Experience with Software-Defined Networking, network virtualization, software-defined wide area networking, or infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, container networking interfaces, service meshes, ingress controllers, and network policies.
  • Experience with classified networks, cross-domain interfaces, disconnected or degraded environments, and highly regulated Government systems.
  • Familiarity with Modular Open Systems Approach principles, open architectures, and Government-owned interface definitions.
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework activities, NIST SP 800-53 controls, Security Technical Implementation Guides, Zero Trust principles, and cybersecurity assessment evidence.
  • Experience with Digital Systems Integration Laboratories, integration test facilities, or lab-to-site transition programs.
  • Experience with network modeling, simulation, performance analysis, or digital engineering tools.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, Network+, CISSP, or equivalent.
  • Ability to coordinate technical work across systems, software, cybersecurity, hardware, test, installation, and operations teams.
  • Ability to translate system and mission requirements into network designs and testable technical requirements.
  • Experience configuring, integrating, and troubleshooting network devices in operational environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain network architecture for development laboratories, systems integration environments, computing platforms, and operational radar sites.
  • Define network requirements for routing, switching, segmentation, redundancy, availability, latency, throughput, quality of service, multicast, timing, and future growth.
  • Design secure Internet Protocol network solutions using routers, switches, firewalls, virtual private networks, load balancers, and network management services.
  • Identify and eliminate single points of failure when possible.
  • Develop logical and physical network diagrams, rack elevations, cable schedules, port assignments, addressing plans, interface definitions, and implementation packages.
  • Develop and maintain network configuration standards, device templates, naming conventions, backup procedures, and configuration-controlled baseline documentation.
  • Design and validate high-availability and failover capabilities using appropriate routing, switching, link aggregation, gateway redundancy, and path-diversity technologies.
  • Coordinate network interfaces with compute, storage, virtualization, container platforms, software applications, cybersecurity tools, and external mission systems.
  • Support network design for containerized and virtualized environments, including cluster networking, service communication, ingress, egress, load balancing, and network policy enforcement.
  • Plan and lead laboratory integration, site installation, cutover, fallback, checkout, acceptance testing, and transition to operations.
