About The Position

A Senior Network Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures to support an organization's IT needs, ensuring security, performance, and reliability.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in network protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), and cybersecurity best practices is essential.
  • Familiarity with network management tools and software is also important.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and implement effective solutions quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for collaborating with various teams and documenting processes.
  • Typically, a Senior Network Architect will have several years of experience in network engineering or a related field, often requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar discipline.
  • Design, development, and build of the networks using the latest in application-centric infrastructure technologies.
  • Migration of core infrastructure from Cisco 7606 to Juniper MX480.
  • L2VPN configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Cisco ASA port assignment.
  • Strategic planning of network infrastructure - upgrades, testing.
  • Network change documentation.
  • DWDM configuration and troubleshooting

Responsibilities

  • Network Design and Implementation: Senior Network Architects evaluate business requirements and develop scalable network solutions. They design network architectures that meet organizational needs, including data, voice, and video communications.
  • Management and Optimization: They oversee the performance and capacity of the enterprise network, ensuring optimal operation of routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices. This includes troubleshooting connectivity issues and implementing best practices for network security.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Senior Network Architects work closely with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to align network strategies with business goals. They may also lead technical projects, supervise junior staff, and serve as a mentor.
  • Documentation and Reporting: They are responsible for producing and maintaining network documentation, including technical diagrams, user guides, and incident reports, to continuously improve network performance and security.
  • Research and Development: Staying updated with the latest technologies and trends in networking, cloud services, and cybersecurity is crucial. They may also conduct research to integrate new solutions into existing infrastructures.
