About The Position

Peraton is seeking an experienced Senior Network Architect to join their dynamic Network and Unified Communications Architecture team in Arlington, VA. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure network architectures, providing architectural guidance, performing troubleshooting and root cause analysis for network issues, and optimizing network performance. The ideal candidate will be proactive, capable of writing test plans, analyzing vendor technical documents, and resolving network problems. This position supports a secure, worldwide, high-performance communications network for government leaders, ensuring reliable secure voice, video, and fax communications.

Requirements

  • An active/current Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 16 years of related experience; an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • An active Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise Infrastructure certification.
  • An active/current DoD 01 compliant IAT Level II certification (CCNA, Security+, etc.).
  • Self-driven and resourceful in achieving goals independently as well as in cooperation with others.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.
  • The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations, and gather team consensus to move forward.

Nice To Haves

  • Exceptional verbal, written (including the development of CONOPS and procedural documentation), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with the ITIL library in support of incident and change management.
  • Experience with a maintenance ticketing system to manage incidents and problems.
  • Knowledge of Solarwinds, Splunk, and Variphy monitoring systems.
  • Previous experience supporting a government and/or Department of Defense customer.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure network architectures.
  • Provide architectural guidance for the development and implementation of network solutions.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for network outages and latency issues.
  • Utilize expertise in Cisco technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices.
  • Optimize network performance to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain network security measures.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide appropriate network solutions.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and Tier IV-level support for complex network issues.
