About The Position

As a member of the SRE Network Operations team, the Analyst will be accountable for providing technical support in event/incident/problem management, escalation, restoration of service, triage and maintain all services pertaining to RBC's operations environment. Also working on leading edge technologies on wired and wireless network to help position the organization to the future.

Requirements

  • Understanding of SDWAN concepts to be able to support multivendor solutions – Silver peak Edge connect
  • Technical skills within the Cisco suite of products include routers and switches (Layer2 / Layer3): CCNA/CCNP
  • In-depth knowledge of OSI model; routing concepts relating to OSPF, BGP; VRF, WAN topologies: ATM, TLS, VPLS and MPLS; Spanning Tree; HSRP/VRRP; Private Vlans with respect to L2/L3 switches, working experience with 93K switches.
  • Cisco and Aruba Wireless: AirWave management, ClearPass Policy Manager, Mobility Controllers, Prime Infrastructure and Cisco wireless controllers.
  • 3-5 Years Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting in a production support environment.
  • Experience managing ServiceNow, CA Spectrum, NetMRI, Infoblox, SecureCRT/FX, NetScout nGenius, Wireshark and Sniffer tools.
  • Technical skills within Wireless, IPT/SIP and Software Defined networks
  • Knowledge of Automation/Scripting

Nice To Haves

  • Current certifications in the following areas: CCIE, Silver Peak certification (SPSP), Wireless certifications (Aruba & Cisco)
  • ITIL v3: Foundations
  • LSS Yellow Belt
  • Experience with Software Defined Network Technologies, Cisco DNAC, Cisco 9800 controllers, Cisco 93K stacks, Cisco Viptela SDWAN, IP Telephony
  • Working experience of Python & Ansible

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incidents and problems and work with appropriate support personnel (Technology Infrastructure, NOC / Business Partners: Bell, Hydro, Rogers, IBM, Cisco, Silver peak, Aruba) on a technical level to resolve in a timely manner and/or escalate as required.
  • Attend implementation planning meetings to ensure the smooth transition of new network infrastructure to be supported by TNS Operations
  • Ensure that all Networking related activities are reviewed, updated and assigned accordingly on a daily basis and that all activities past their implementation dates are followed up on and addressed.
  • Event, Incident, Problem and Change management tasks in 24/7 rotation shift.
  • Provision Bulk Mac / AMAC Change Requests and ACS administration for RBC networks
  • Preparation for Planned activities; on demand /real time problem troubleshooting using variety of industry leading tool sets including but not limited to Spectrum, nGenius, sniffer, NetMRI, Airwave, Cisco DNAC, Silver peak Orchestrator and NetOps tool suite; participate in team performance objectives.
  • Assume personal initiative in the management of skills and career development.
  • May provide recommendations and contribute to the solutions in an area of expertise including leading work streams that are part of a medium initiative to support BAU/Project initiatives.
