About The Position

The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for network operations, strategic planning, design, and optimization. They ensure capacity planning is performed and are proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement. They oversee network monitoring for performance and security, while ensuring regulatory compliance. This role involves developing strategies and direction for network systems solutions using current and emerging technologies, performing troubleshooting procedures, and administering various network devices and systems.

Requirements

  • High overall technical knowledge of IT systems.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking with ability to make decisions with minimum direct supervision.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of Project Management and the ability to meet required deadlines.
  • High degree of knowledge on routers, routing protocols, switches, HUBs, Infrastructure cabling both ethernet and fiber.
  • High degree of knowledge on Cisco, MS-Server, Virtualization, DNS, LDAP, MS Azure, MS Directory Services, EntraID, and VDI technologies.
  • High degree of knowledge on Data Center infrastructure and connectivity.
  • High degree of knowledge on replication, backup/restoration, data security, and data protection.
  • High degree of knowledge on network monitoring and tuning tools, Firewall management, wireless technologies, network access management and VOIP technologies.
  • Ability to complete complex projects with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork ethics, a willingness to be active in department and bank functions, help with projects, and exhibit a cheerful outlook.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience with industry certifications.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Driver’s License is required.
  • 5 years’ experience in network administration over networks with multiple data centers and 20+ remote sites.
  • 3 years working with Cisco routers, switches, Firewalls, FTDs, and associated software.
  • 3 years working with Microsoft operating systems, and VMware Hypervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Develops strategies and direction for network systems solutions using current and emerging technologies (including wireless, cellular and VoIP).
  • Performs troubleshooting procedures and designs resolutions.
  • Administers servers, routers, switches, firewalls, IP phones, mobile devices, VDI Environment software deployment, security updates and patches.
  • Administers servers, hypervisors, SAN’s, VDI environment, and other ancillary systems, to include firmware, OS updates, and security updates and patches.
  • Monitors network performance and completes resolution steps when required.
  • Performs troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs/fixes for network hardware and software related problems.
  • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation.
  • Evaluates vendor products in hardware, software and telecommunications equipment and recommends purchases consistent with the Bank’s short and long-term objectives.
  • Assists with verification and responses to audits.
  • Works closely with other Network Administrators, the entire IT department, multiple outside departments, Alpine employees, and software vendors.
  • Work closely with vendors’ support personnel to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete training to stay current on recent technology.
  • May function as a lead or team mentoring role.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees.
  • Coaches staff, prepares and delivers performance evaluations.
