About The Position

KF Aerospace is seeking a Senior Network Administrator to join their team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, security, availability, monitoring, reporting, and quality of services for network environments (VoIP, LAN, WAN, Internet) and servers (VMs and physical), backups, databases, Active Directory, and critical business software programs. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic, and have excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. This specific role will have a focus on networking and mobile device management (MDM).

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Education in Computer Technology or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, and 8+ years of experience in IT.
  • MCSE or Azure certification.
  • Experience with VMWare and bare metal servers.
  • Experience writing scripts (PowerShell) is an asset.
  • Understanding of ITIL.
  • A strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability, well-developed organizational skills with special attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, documentation, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Well-developed time management skills, with the ability to work well under time-sensitive deadlines and balance multiple tasks.
  • Carrying a cell phone and being on-call on a rotational basis are required.
  • Ability to obtain Canadian Government Level 2 secret security clearance.
  • Occasional travel is required.
  • Perform after-hours work on emergency and scheduled basis; participate in on-call rotation as required.
  • Ability to lift/move equipment up to 50lbs. on occasion.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical prime in incidents affecting Network, Server, and Business Application operations.
  • Act as the technical prime within the team for the design, redesign, implementation, configuration, connectivity, and maintenance of networks and servers.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical support incidents and problems.
  • Isolate, resolve, and document operational and technical problems and performance bottlenecks.
  • Develop and maintain network and server management procedures, including documentation for daily operational support.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, identify, and remedy areas of congestion and/or degraded quality.
  • Secure network and server systems by collaborating with the Cyber Security Department to establish and enforce policies, and define monitoring access.
  • Monitor and manage server infrastructure for continuous uptime and SLA maintenance.
  • Work on daily operational tickets, including incidents and service requests.
  • Provide escalation support for Help Desk tickets, identifying, analyzing, diagnosing, researching, resolving, and logging all technical issues and requests in a ticketing system.
  • Manage mobile device and endpoint management tools, such as MS Intune or similar enterprise-level solutions.
  • Continuously improve the delivery, security, and quality of services.
  • Install approved security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure; perform regular security patching and fix detected vulnerabilities.
  • Report risks, trends, and service gaps to IT leadership.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Create and actively maintain network and collaboration technical configuration documents and topology maps.
  • Be proactive in identifying new network technologies and assessing their adoption.
  • Perform failure/root cause analysis during problem resolution.
  • Deliver projects with the foresight to predict and plan for future risks, identifying all facets of project and ongoing maintenance solutions including hardware requirements, licensing, support services, labor requirements, and knowledge/training requirements for implementations.
  • Be self-sufficient with project implementations, defining critical tasks, scheduling activities, and following through to completion.
