The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for network operations, strategic planning, design, and optimization. They ensure capacity planning is performed and proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement. They oversee network monitoring for performance and security, while ensuring regulatory compliance. This role involves administering servers, routers, switches, firewalls, IP phones, mobile devices, VDI Environment software deployment, security updates and patches. It also includes administering servers, hypervisors, SAN’s, VDI environment, and other ancillary systems, to include firmware, OS updates, and security updates and patches. The Senior Network Administrator will monitor network performance, perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs for network hardware and software issues, and secure the network. They will evaluate vendor products and recommend purchases, assist with verification and responses to audits, and work closely with other IT personnel, outside departments, and vendors. The position requires regular and reliable attendance and may involve functioning in a lead or team mentoring role. The role also includes supervisory duties such as leading and directing the work of other employees, coaching staff, and preparing performance evaluations.
