Senior NC Programmer

Moog Inc.Torrance, CA
$100,000 - $125,000Onsite

About The Position

Moog's Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Senior NC Programmer to join them. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering /NC Programming Leader and will have a 9/80 schedule option and work on-site at our aerospace plant in Torrance, CA. As a Senior NC Programmer, you will determine operations to be performed on N/C and prepare detailed program outlines and establish tooling and gauging requirements to produce Aerospace parts on numerically controlled machines. You will prepare detailed operation sheets for the N/C portion of the process and make estimates of setup and run hours for production parts and design & build hours for tooling. When a part contains a very large percentage of N/C work, it may be entirely possible that you are responsible for the total operation sheet. In addition to the above detailed "desk type" of work, you will also spend time in the N/C centers solving problems and improving processes associated with the parts you are responsible for. The solutions of these problems may require the Programmer "A"s decision alone, or could result in your contacting and working with your Group Leader, Methods Engineers, Moog Product or Design Engineers, Quality Assurance Personnel, Moog Metallurgists, or Inspectors. Human relation skills are necessary to work with a variety of people. You will provide technical guidance to your group, and provide input on selection, placement, job evaluation, performance, and appraisals. You will support the Machine Shop and Assembly & Test areas by coordinating the manufacturing Engineering group activities. You will participate in the development of new processes and manufacturing methods for standardization and cost reduction. You will work with department Engineers & Technicians to achieve on-time and cost competitiveness in process planning. You will provide technical input for difficult and non-routine Manufacturing Engineering work. You will work in a matrix-based organization and take initiative to contact and coordinate with other groups when a problem solution so requires. You will manage multiple tasks simultaneously and be able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
