About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Municipal Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Tampa, FL. Your role will involve project management for multiple municipal projects, including conducting contract negotiations with clients and sub-consultants. You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, billings, and reports, and conducting or coordinating detailed phases of engineering work. This includes performing preliminary engineering design and reviewing the design and drafting work of junior engineers, designers, or drafters. You will work with external clients at progress meetings and throughout projects to meet client needs, project schedules, goals, and deadlines. The role also involves preparing cost and man-hour estimates, job budgets, and schedules, as well as performing quality control and guidance of junior staff related to hydrologic/hydraulic models or methods. You will prepare or oversee the preparation of final plans and design reports, and hydrologic/hydraulic models and modeling reports for approval. Coordination with other engineers and professionals, both within and outside your discipline, and with support services staff is also a key part of this role. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (preferably Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources).
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Florida.
  • 6+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management including budget, schedule and deliverable performance.
  • Demonstrated experience working with municipalities, water management districts, and other water agencies.
  • Good technical writing, computer and communications skills.

  • Management coursework and/or MBA is a plus.
