About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Motion Designer who views motion as a powerful communication tool, capable of transforming complex ideas into clear, memorable, and distinctly Lumin brand experiences. In this role, you will be the primary owner of motion as a creative function, collaborating directly with the Creative Director to guide projects from initial concept through final production across various channels including product marketing, web, social media, and live events. A key aspect of this position will be to help define and establish Lumin's brand identity through motion, by developing motion systems, principles, and templates that ensure animation is a consistent and scalable element of our brand presence.

  • 6-8 years of motion design experience in an agency or B2B SaaS in-house creative team.
  • Portfolio demonstrating range across brand, product, and narrative motion work (demo reel or portfolio link required).
  • Proven ability to own motion work end-to-end, from concept through delivery.
  • Experience building or meaningfully contributing to a motion design system or brand language.
  • Experience storyboarding and directing motion work.
  • Expert-level proficiency in After Effects and Premiere Pro.
  • Experience delivering motion for web, understanding file formats, compression, and developer handoff.
  • Solid Figma skills.
  • Strong pre-production craft, including concepting and storyboarding.
  • Clear, proactive communication skills, with the ability to present creative work to non-designers.
  • Actively uses AI tools in the motion workflow (e.g., Runway, Adobe Firefly Video, Pika).
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload in a fully remote environment.
  • Low-ego collaborator who iterates gracefully and elevates the work.

Nice To Haves

  • Google Slides proficiency for presentation design and animations.
  • Experience designing for large-format event displays or live conference environments.
  • Background in B2B SaaS or complex tech product space.
  • Experience building templates or workflows that help non-motion-designers work with animation confidently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead motion work from concept through final delivery for product videos, explainers, product launch animations, social content, podcasts, and event visuals.
  • Own the full pre-production process, including concepting and storyboarding ideas into clear motion beats before animation begins.
  • Translate complex or technical concepts into short, clear stories that a broad audience can understand and remember.
  • Deliver motion assets optimized for web, ensuring appropriate file formats and clear handoff specifications for seamless integration into the browser.
  • Contribute to event assets for live conferences, including main stage visuals, screen content, ambient loops, and branded motion moments.
  • Edit video footage into polished, on-brand deliverables.
  • Build and extend Lumin’s motion design system, establishing principles, behaviors, and templates for consistency and scalability.
  • Present work clearly to non-designers, effectively communicating creative rationale to stakeholders.
  • Actively explore and apply animation and AI tools (e.g., Jitter, Cavalry, Runway, Adobe Firefly Video, Pika) to enhance the motion workflow and efficiency.
  • Support digital design needs, including presentations in Google Slides and select marketing assets in Figma.
