About The Position

Entropico is seeking a Senior Motion Designer to join its Los Angeles studio. The role combines advanced technical craft with creative leadership, owning motion strategy for complex projects and helping keep the studio’s work at the cutting edge. The designer leads motion graphics and animation from concept through delivery across digital, social, and experiential platforms, while working with global and cross-functional teams. The role also includes client communication, quality oversight, mentorship, and development of effective workflows for large-scale After Effects projects.

Requirements

At least 6 years of experience in motion design across a range of projects, from short social media assets to longer scripted pieces, commercial projects, and/or documentaries.
Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Advanced design and composition skills.
Excellent understanding of motion, movement, and pacing.
Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.
Ability to articulate creative decisions to clients and non-designers.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Strong creative problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and find innovative solutions during design and animation.
Experience in collaborative environments, including design teams and cross-departmental projects.
Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently, manage multiple workstreams, and remain composed under tight production deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with Figma and/or Cinema 4D.

Responsibilities

Lead the conceptualization and execution of high-end motion graphics and animations across digital, social, and experiential platforms.
Develop key art and design concepts from scratch, including style frames, references, and motion prototypes.
Collaborate with and guide the global motion design team in developing creative concepts for studio projects.
Partner with graphic designers, editors, sound designers, account directors, and production teams to integrate motion into the broader project narrative.
Develop creative responses and motion-design rationale for client pitch decks.
Ensure motion design meets Entropico’s standards for movement, pacing, and brand consistency before delivery.
Establish best practices for large-scale After Effects projects, manage complex file structures, and create workflows that benefit the wider project team.
Present, articulate, and justify strategic ideas and design concepts to clients and internal stakeholders.
Mentor junior talent and provide design direction to freelance designers.
Explore current tools, plugins, techniques, trends, and supplementary programs to help elevate studio output.
Contribute to ongoing learning and professional development, including growth in AI tools and programs such as Cinema 4D, Figma, and Cavalry.
Collaborate with other teams to support high-quality work and contribute to the business’s overall success.
