Senior ML/AI Engineer
About The Position
Beast Industries is building a first-of-its-kind consumer membership ecosystem from the ground up, with AI as the core foundation. As a Senior ML/AI Engineer, you will be instrumental in building the AI operational backbone and developing AI-native features for a product expected to reach over 100 million users. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on a zero-to-one build where AI-native is the default assumption. You will be responsible for writing infrastructure code, shipping features, and building evaluation systems to ensure quality, working closely with fast-moving product squads. The role involves building AI within a membership app targeted at the MrBeast audience, aiming for a global reach of over 100 million users.
Requirements
- Shipped ML or AI systems in production for products used by millions.
- Experience being on-call for a model, not just training one.
- Deeply integrated modern AI tooling into your workflow, including using coding agents daily and consuming tokens.
- Built or significantly contributed to eval systems that have caught real regressions.
- Startup experience to build from zero with a nimble team.
- Big-tech exposure to understand challenges at consumer scale.
- Thrive in ambiguity and prefer shipping over process.
- Prefer to spin up a prototype and demonstrate it rather than run a design review.
Responsibilities
- Ship AI-native features end-to-end, including recommendation, personalization, ranking, moderation, and agents, by working directly within product squads.
- Help build and extend the AI operational backbone, encompassing model serving, inference infrastructure, retrieval, and prompt/agent tooling for use by other squads.
- Own the evaluation of shipped features, both offline and online, to catch quality regressions before they impact users.
- Make pragmatic decisions regarding foundation models, fine-tuning, RAG, and agent frameworks.
- Maintain a lean technology stack and tight feedback loops.
- Operate in an AI-native environment, utilizing tokens, coding agents daily, and shipping features more rapidly than traditional ML workflows.
