About The Position

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) P-8A Poseidon Program is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and inclusive Senior Mission Systems (MS) Engineering Manager to lead the P-8A Mission Systems engineering team from Tukwila, WA. The Senior Mission Systems Engineering Manager will oversee the team responsible for development, analysis, integration, test, certification, and production support for Flight Deck Avionics, Communications & Navigation, Mission Computing & Displays, Sensors, and Armament. This role will support P-8 development and production for both domestic and international customers. This role will report to the Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) Mission Systems and Labs capability leader and will closely coordinate with the P-8A Chief Program Engineer and the P-8A Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT) leader and will lead the teams located in Tukwila and Kent, WA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and partnering with cross-functional teams, involving key stakeholder relationship management.
  • 5+ years of experience working within a fast-paced team environment, which required strong communication skills to frequently interact with leadership or internal and external customer representatives.
  • 5+ years of experience in a management position.
  • Experience with schedule and budget management, integration of all logistics elements, customer communication, as well as understanding of execution of program planning to ensure cost, schedule, and technical baseline requirements are met.
  • Earned Value Management experience.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Mission Systems employees performing engineering and technical activities in support of P-8 production, delivery, and development efforts.
  • Perform Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) management; develop and execute integrated plans, policies, processes, and procedures for Mission Systems.
  • Interface with BDS Mission Systems leadership and other teams across the enterprise to ensure proper project planning collaboration and implementation, fulfillment of assistance needs, and incorporation of lessons learned.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with domestic and international customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Manage, motivate, coach, and develop employees; acquire new resources for organizational activities.
  • Support study contracts, IRAD, and new business proposal campaigns.
  • Provide technical management of suppliers.
