About The Position

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a Senior Mission Systems Engineer to support critical Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) programs at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA. This role will provide systems engineering expertise across complex, mission-critical programs and work closely with government and contractor teams to support system development, integration, and lifecycle activities. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have an Active Top Secret Clearance and be SCI eligible
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related professional engineering discipline
  • 10+ years of systems engineering experience
  • 5 of which must be in the DoD setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level systems engineering support for complex, mission-critical NC3 programs throughout the systems engineering and acquisition lifecycle.
  • Develop, analyze, and maintain system requirements, specifications, architectures, and technical documentation.
  • Lead systems engineering activities supporting system design, development, integration, verification, validation, and testing.
  • Evaluate system requirements and technical solutions to ensure alignment with program objectives, operational needs, and applicable standards.
  • Perform technical analysis and assessments to identify system risks, performance gaps, dependencies, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Support the development and evaluation of system architectures, interfaces, and technical baselines.
  • Lead or participate in technical reviews, working groups, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and program-level technical meetings.
  • Coordinate with government stakeholders, program management, engineering teams, contractors, and other technical organizations to resolve complex systems engineering issues.
  • Support the development of engineering plans, technical reports, briefings, and other program documentation.
  • Review contractor deliverables and provide technical assessments and recommendations to government and program leadership.
  • Support system integration activities and help ensure interfaces and requirements are properly defined, documented, and verified.
  • Apply systems engineering processes and methodologies to identify and manage technical risks throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineering personnel as needed.
  • Support program planning, acquisition activities, and technical decision-making through analysis, recommendations, and engineering expertise.
  • Stay current with applicable DoD systems engineering practices, acquisition policies, and program-specific technical requirements.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.
