About The Position

Stantec is seeking a Senior Mining Advisory Consultant to join its US Mining Team. The role develops clients and delivers economic, financial, advisory, and business consulting projects related to the mining industry, including mineral valuations, market assessments, due diligence, risk analysis, business improvement, and economic models for technical reports. The consultant develops projects and client relationships, leads and reviews work, and mentors junior staff. The position contributes to proposals, contracts, project management, and client relations; leads techno-economic analysis, due diligence, and advisory projects; and helps develop and expand services with new and existing clients. The consultant follows safe work practices and company and client guidelines. The role involves a typical office environment with computer work and extended sedentary periods, while field work may involve exposure to the elements and inclement weather. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Requirements

20+ years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering and/or mineral economics, or a related field.
Diverse background in mining projects.
Experience designing and analyzing projects using various economic and financial methodologies.
Experience developing new clients and relationships.
Experience with mine-plan outputs and analyzing the financial implications of different parameters.
Strong technical and business writing, organizational, technical leadership, and oral communication skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to work and make decisions independently.
Demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain relationships with local staff, key staff at other Stantec locations, and existing and prospective clients.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Strong technical skills in mineral market studies, economic and financial evaluation of mining projects, mineral valuations, mining development strategies, risk analysis, and mining advisory.
Experience representing a company at conferences.
Experience developing proposals and managing projects.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
