About The Position

The Senior Millwork Operator produces high-quality custom millwork by operating and maintaining woodworking machinery. This role requires strong technical skills and precision while supporting safe, efficient workflow, quality control, training, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

3–5+ years of experience in millwork, cabinetry, or woodworking production.
Proficiency with industrial woodworking machinery and measurement tools.
Strong understanding of wood species, materials, and machining characteristics.
Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and cut sheets.
Commitment to safety, accuracy, and craftsmanship.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs. as needed.
Standing, bending, and moving throughout the production area for extended periods.
Comfortable working in a shop environment with noise, dust, and machinery.
Attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
Mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
Strong communication and teamwork.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Time management and ability to meet production deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Background in custom millwork, architectural components, or commercial cabinetry.
Leadership or training experience in a production environment.

Responsibilities

Operate a variety of millwork machinery, such as planers, jointers, table saws, molders, sanders, and edge banders.
Read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and specifications to produce accurate components.
Set up machines, adjust tooling, and verify measurements to maintain tight tolerance.
Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.
Serve as a technical resource for junior operators and production staff.
Train team members on equipment operation, safety procedures, and best practices.
Assist supervisors with workflow planning and prioritizing daily production tasks.
Follow all safety protocols and ensure others do the same.
Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs.
Identify equipment issues early and communicate repair needs promptly.
Monitor material usage and minimize waste through efficient cutting and planning.
Recommend process improvements to increase productivity and reduce downtime.
Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
