About The Position

The Senior Middleware Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, security remediation, compliance management, automation, troubleshooting, and operational support of enterprise middleware platforms and supporting infrastructure. The role focuses on maintaining highly available, secure, and compliant environments while leveraging automation to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and ensure consistency across middleware services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of middleware administration experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise WebSphere and WebLogic environments.
  • Experience in security remediation, vulnerability management, and audit compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience developing automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • WebSphere Application Server, IBM HTTP Server, WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat, IIS, WebSphere Portal.
  • Linux (RHEL, SUSE, AIX, Solaris) and Windows Server administration.
  • SSL/TLS, LDAP, Active Directory, Kerberos, SSO, security hardening.
  • Shell Scripting, Python, JACL, XML, HTML, Awk, Sed, Curl.
  • Automation, REST API integration, task scheduling, and operational scripting.
  • IBM DB2 and Oracle databases.
  • JVM tuning, monitoring, and performance analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • WebSphere Liberty experience.
  • Kafka, Zookeeper, Artifactory, WordPress, ServiceNow, or Remedy administration experience.
  • Ansible, Jenkins, Git, GitLab CI/CD, or similar automation tools.
  • Experience supporting security audits and compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support IBM WebSphere, IBM HTTP Server, Oracle WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat, IIS, and WebSphere Portal environments.
  • Perform security remediation activities, vulnerability management, patching, upgrades, and compliance validation.
  • Manage SSL/TLS certificates, keystores, truststores, LDAP, Kerberos, Active Directory integration, SSO, and LTPA security.
  • Administer Linux and Windows servers supporting middleware environments.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for middleware administration, patching, compliance validation, and operational support activities.
  • Develop and maintain Shell, Python, and JACL scripts to automate recurring administrative tasks.
  • Automate deployments, middleware configuration updates, certificate management processes, reporting, and system health checks.
  • Support CI/CD deployment processes and enterprise automation tools where applicable.
  • Perform middleware performance monitoring, JVM tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Execute change management, incident management, and service restoration activities.
  • Maintain documentation, procedures, audit evidence, and compliance records.
