This role is responsible for developing and implementing metallurgical processes, controls, and improvements to support product development and maintenance. The Senior Metallurgist will manage metallography laboratory operations and personnel, provide technical support, and collaborate with quality, engineering, die engineering, and sales teams. Key responsibilities include qualifying new parts, evaluating specifications, creating manufacturing procedures, conducting failure investigations, and identifying cost reduction opportunities. The position also involves integrating customer and product requirements, transitioning new products into manufacturing, investigating new technologies, and acting as a technical expert for material science information. The role requires interfacing with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, and serving as a technical spokesman on various metallurgical topics. Additionally, the Senior Metallurgist will monitor technology trends, maintain accurate records for intellectual property, and perform other duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with the company's Code of Conduct.
