About The Position

Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior MEP Project Manager that will provide leadership and manage Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects or MEP scopes on medium to large projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and safety, mentoring the project team, potentially overseeing multiple projects, and developing strong customer relationships through excellent service. This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience
  • Demonstrate ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for complex projects
  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and run multiple project tasks
  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
  • Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
  • Positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
  • Current driver’s license
  • Ability to travel up to 100%
  • Minimum eight years construction management experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor (for Senior MEP Project Manager I)
  • Minimum ten years construction management experience, preferably experience with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor (for Senior MEP Project Manager II)
  • Minimum five years’ experience building data centers (for Senior MEP Project Manager II)
  • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the 3-D coordination and commissioning processes, ensuring conflict resolution and testing
  • Supervise the overall financial health of data center projects including projections, budgeting, and invoicing
  • Oversee subcontractor and supplier selections, billings, and contract management
  • Lead project closeout activities, including manuals, model turnover, and training
  • Supervise and develop Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s)
  • Serve as main contact for owner, resolving site concerns and building relationships
  • Manage change orders and obtain necessary approvals
  • Ensure quality, risk, safety, and compliance throughout the project
