About The Position

The Senior MEP Estimator leads preparation and coordination of detailed mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection estimates for assigned projects. The role ensures technical accuracy and alignment with design and project goals, integrating design, constructability, and cost perspectives to optimize MEP systems. It serves as a technical resource to project teams and collaborates with preconstruction, design, and operations leaders to support decision-making, value analysis, and risk mitigation throughout preconstruction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6–8 years of experience in MEP estimating, design coordination, or related construction functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of detailed MEP cost estimates from concept through design development and construction documents, and establish estimating approaches, major assumptions, and scope clarifications.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify design intent, scope gaps, and cost risks; facilitate scope review meetings with MEP trade partners and reconcile proposal differences.
• Coordinate with design consultants, trade partners, and internal teams to validate MEP pricing, constructability, and value options.
• Align MEP costs with project logistics, phasing, and schedule assumptions in coordination with the preconstruction team.
• Perform system cost comparisons, energy and lifecycle cost analyses, and alternative solution evaluations.
• Guide and mentor estimators in MEP-specific estimating processes and tools.
• Support procurement strategies, subcontractor selection, and negotiations related to MEP scope; level subcontractor bids and recommend scope alignments and preferred vendors.
• Contribute to the development of estimating templates, databases, and process improvements to strengthen accuracy and efficiency.
