About The Position

This posting is for multiple openings of Senior Mental Health Counselor Master position at Providence Youth Behavioral Residential Center in Anchorage, AK. There are 3 full-time positions available, working 40 hours per week with variable and day shifts. A $15,000 Sign-On Bonus is offered for eligible external hires. Relocation Assistance is also available for eligible hires. Additionally, there is 1 Per Diem position with a variable shift, where hours are not guaranteed and no bonus or relocation is offered. The role involves providing direct client care services, including treatment planning, individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. The Senior Mental Health Counselor-Masters also assists leadership in developing and maintaining standards of practice, quality services, and new programs. This role serves as a resource for other clinicians, demonstrating advanced clinical skills, and may also be involved in consultation, education, critical inquiry, and mentoring of personnel. Responsibilities include planning and providing client, family, peer, and community education, and coordinating services with other healthcare professionals. The position requires following an individualized performance development plan to maintain current knowledge and competence, supporting program goals, and modeling the organization's philosophy and values. Requirements

  • Master's Degree - Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work or health related field.
  • Alaska Masters Social Worker License upon hire or, Alaska Clinical Social Worker License upon hire or, Alaska Psychologist License upon hire or, Alaska Marriage and Family Therapist License upon hire or, Alaska Professional Counselor License upon hire.
  • 5 years - Clinical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct client care services in all assigned areas that includes treatment planning, individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy.
  • Assists leadership in the development and maintenance of standards of practice, development of quality services and new programs.
  • Serves as a resource for other clinicians and demonstrates advanced clinical skill.
  • Performs other professional roles including consultation, education, critical inquiry and direction/mentoring of personnel.
  • Plans and provides client, family, peer and community education.
  • Coordinates services with other health care professionals including interaction with physicians or ARNP responsible for the care of the client.
  • Follows an individualized performance development plan to maintain current knowledge and be competent in specialty areas, support program goals.
  • Promote program goals and objectives while modeling philosophy and values.
