About The Position

Waukesha County's Department of Health & Human Services is recruiting for an LTE Senior Mental Health Counselor. This position will work on the adult inpatient unit as needed. This position requires a minimum of 2 weekend days per month and 2 holidays per calendar year. The ideal candidate will have some weekday availability to cover when the full-time staff are out. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in sociology, social work, psychology or a closely related field.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in the field of mental health including one thousand (1000) hours of experience delivering services to the chronically mentally ill and their families.
  • OR
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with at least four (4) courses in sociology, social work, or psychology.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in the field of mental health including one thousand (1000) hours of experience delivering services to the chronically mentally ill and their families.
  • Master's degree from a recognized college or university in sociology, social work, psychology, or a closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
