About The Position

Anterior is transforming healthcare administration with an AI-powered platform designed by clinicians, for clinicians. This role involves owning problems end-to-end, from system design to production. You will drive technical direction, shape architecture, and set the bar for engineering quality. The work includes scaling AWS infrastructure, debugging systems, designing backend services and data pipelines, working with customers, building internal tooling, improving LLM-powered systems, and contributing to platform architecture and documentation. The tech stack includes Python, Go, TS, React, Nix, and AWS (CDKTF).

Owned system design decisions, shipped them to production, and operated them at scale
Experience being the go-to person for system issues or design opinions
Led projects, mentored junior engineers, and made architectural decisions that stuck
Experience in a scale-up, big tech platform team, engineering finance shop, or similar with a serious AWS footprint
Experience with real complexity and desire for more ownership
Ability to share a proudest firefighting story

Responsibilities

Scaling and hardening our AWS infrastructure to meet growing enterprise demand
Analyzing request logs, debugging event streams, and improving system reliability
Designing and building backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that power our AI platform
Working directly with customers to understand real-world healthcare workflows, scope integrations, and translate requirements into product specs
Building internal tooling to automate workflows and increase team leverage
Writing evals to identify weaknesses and drive improvements in our LLM-powered systems
Working across the stack when needed — from backend services to frontend — to ship complete solutions
Contributing to Anterior's SDKs, developer documentation, and platform architecture
