Requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of medical affairs experience OR Master’s degree and 4 years of medical affairs experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of medical affairs experience OR Associate’s degree and 10 years of medical affairs experience OR High school diploma / GED and 12 years of medical affairs experience
  • Doctorate degree from an accredited academic institution (PhD, MD/DO, or PharmD)
  • 2+ years of clinical and/or basic science research experience, combined with clinical practice and/or biomedical teaching in oncology, ideally within thoracic oncology
  • Experience with thoracic malignancies, including SCLC, NSCLC, molecularly defined lung cancers, immuno-oncology, targeted therapies, and biomarker-driven treatment approaches
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement and scientific interactions (e.g., key opinion leaders, advocacy groups, collaborative research networks, and cooperative groups)
  • In-depth understanding of scientific methods and clinical applications based on medical, scientific, and practical rationale
  • Familiarity with concepts of clinical research, clinical trial design, real-world evidence, translational medicine, and biostatistics
  • Familiarity with global oncology clinical studies and evolving standards of care in thoracic oncology
  • Sound scientific and medical judgment
  • Strong long-term strategic vision and ability to anticipate and adapt to rapid changes within the thoracic oncology treatment landscape
  • Familiarity with regulations and guidelines that govern pharmaceutical industry practices
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of the global medical affairs strategy, including medical insight generation and translation into actionable strategic activities across thoracic oncology.
  • Lead the implementation of scientific advisory boards and Executive Advisory Councils to inform clinical development strategy, shape the Target Product Profile (TPP), and guide global launch planning for thoracic oncology assets.
  • Support the development and execution of the global medical evidence generation strategy (AUEG) to shape clinical practice, demonstrate product value, and enable patient access in thoracic cancers.
  • Contribute to the development of an integrated medical communication framework that defines the clinical narrative, scientific platform, and core scientific content, and informs global medical education initiatives.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Clinical Development, HEOR, Market Access, Commercial, and Regional Medical teams to ensure alignment on evidence generation and scientific engagement priorities.
  • Develop robust external stakeholder engagement plans through collaboration with thoracic oncology opinion leaders, cooperative groups, advocacy organizations, professional societies, and payer stakeholders.
  • Monitor and assess emerging scientific data, treatment paradigms, biomarkers, and competitive developments within the thoracic oncology landscape to identify opportunities and risks.
