About The Position

This is a combined posting for an Medical Assistant and Senior Medical Assistant. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. The MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. The MA III works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA III is capable of performing all aspects of the MA I and MA II roles. Additionally, the MA III proactively takes initiative and serves as an informal leader with additional responsibilities related to clinic/location. MA III serves as an ambassador, change agent, quality champion, and mentor/resource to Medical Assistants by providing support, guidance, and training as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants.
  • Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
  • Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces.
  • Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • 2 years of medical assisting experience in a clinic setting.
  • 2 years of experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion.
  • 6 months of Working experience in a PSJH clinic within the last 3 years.

  • Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification.
