Responsible for media management algorithm design for Data Center SSD. DC SSD drive level characterization for media management features. Data analysis infrastructure development. System feature config point of contact on behavior of MAG, interfacing FW, SSD PE, NAND PE to make sure each vintage of NAND will be properly handled by FW. Owner of mConfig, REM latching, Trim overflow handling, sequential read NAND command optimization, partial block handling, tempco by PEC, vRLC, write temperature recording in system. Point of contact for Joint Server Farm (JSF) and handle drive behavior data analysis and FA. Employer will accept a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Position requires education or experience in the following: 1. Signal processing, including analog, digital and statistical signal process by signal processors, modeling samples with probability distribution under Probability and stochastic process, and error control coding; 2. Utilizing key features and specifications of data Center SSD to achieve such type of specification; 3. System design, including flash storage system basics, including general product, USB/SD/SSD and the functional operation of each of those components; 4. Nand knowledge, including non-volatile memory categories, and their fundamental difference, operation of non-volatile memory cell, and NAND flash memory architecture; 5. Chip design, including analog and digital integrated circuit knowledge. CMOS transistor operation and fundamental RLC circuit behavior and analysis skill. The US base salary range that Micron Technology, Inc. estimates it could pay for this full-time position is $157,817.00 - $238,000.
