Requirements

  • 10+ years experience with 'from scratch' design, procurement, assembly, commissioning, and maintenance of automated tooling or equipment.
  • 10+ years of experience utilizing CAD with advanced understanding of and demonstrated ability to implement GD&T on 2D drawings through design, peer review, and engineering release.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and hands-on problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong skills for design and process simplification.
  • Ability to communicate optimally, clearly, and with humility to partners.
  • High-level of attention to detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in all engineering tasks.
  • Understanding of control systems, robotics, and automated industrial equipment, machines, and processes.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or integration of automated equipment (preferably with an automation systems integrator).
  • Experience with ANSYS or similar engineering simulation software for structural analysis, finite element analysis (fea), or other multiphysics simulations.
  • Exposure to controls and automation software.
  • Design and modification of PLC, CNC, and Robot programs.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or MATLAB.
  • A demonstrated ability to interpret and review electrical drawings.
  • Mechanical design for process control systems, such as but not limited to Welding, Machining, Drilling, Surface Finishing, Forming, Material Handling, NDT, Metrology, Machine Vision, etc.
  • Experience with industrial automation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design, hardware development, and visualization using 3D CAD
  • Create, interpret, and review mechanical drawings
  • Overseeing the entire project lifecycle, which encompasses requirements intake, design, construction, commissioning, and ongoing support.
  • Develop the hardware design and process flow for innovative automated equipment and tooling in both simulated and real-world settings.
  • Design of custom automation equipment to include but not limited to robotic end of arm tools, assorted peripheral / auxiliary material handling equipment, small and medium structural components, cell / system layout including safety guarding and enclosures, etc.
  • Provide production support for sophisticated manufacturing equipment, perform root cause analysis for continuous process improvements.
  • Project management.
  • Vendor/supplier management.
  • Support initiatives to improve the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes through automation; accomplish the technical architecture, roadmap, and implementation.
  • Integrate mechanical, electronic, pneumatic and related components into unified systems.
  • Improve existing systems for optimal performance and reliability.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, prototyping, and/or process simulations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Codes and develops software and applications creating distinct code in the design and development of software meant for exclusive purposes or users while providing custom configuration and solutions, however, their role is not customization and configuration of commercial software meant for broad applications and uses.
  • Conducts requirement analysis, documents technical specifications, and writes, reviews, and debugs code.
  • Recommends product revisions or enhancements based on user feedback.
  • Develops and maintains documentation or user manuals.
  • Responsible for the analysis, design, development, test, verification, release, and operations of the software in support of our business and functional units
