About The Position

The Senior Mechanical Facility Specialist is responsible for maintaining buildings to ensure they function in a quality manner. This includes completing all work in a timely manner according to client requirements, making necessary repairs on buildings and equipment, and meeting all quality and productivity metrics. The role requires strong teamwork and collaboration, effective communication with external vendors and contractors for quotes and project completion, and the ability to learn and perform routine and non-routine duties independently with minimal guidance. The specialist will diagnose problems, suggest solutions, stay updated on professional developments, and demonstrate technical knowledge. They will also assist with projects, install new equipment, repair campus equipment (minor to critical), service Automated Storage Retrieval Systems (ASRS), administer preventative maintenance, provide general assistance to the supervisor, handle trash, communicate effectively with clients and staff, and conduct all activities safely and efficiently. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of Mechanical experience in one of the mentioned fields: Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC or a closely related experience.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

  • Making necessary repairs on buildings and equipment.

  • Effectively communicates with external vendors and contractors as applicable to request quotes and/or complete projects.
  • Learn and perform routine and non-routine duties independently to execute with minimal guidance.
  • Diagnose problems and suggest possible solutions.
  • Keep abreast of current developments and trends in professional area.
  • Understand technical knowledge or skills not easily or quickly learned on the job.
  • Demonstrate and maintain awareness of innovations and progress in respective field(s).
  • Assist with projects in a timely manner.
  • Install new equipment and repair minor to critical campus equipment.
  • Assist with projects and respond to emergent repairs.
  • Service Automated Storage Retrieval System (ASRS).
  • Administer preventative maintenance.
  • Give general assistance to supervisor.
  • Trash handling.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and staff members.
  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
