Senior Mechanical Engineer

PDWQuinte West, ON
$130,000 - $150,000Hybrid

About The Position

You will join a team of operators, engineers, and builders who solve hard problems with humility and focus. We design and produce multi-mission aerial systems that operators trust to perform in real-world conditions, reliably, repeatedly, and at scale. Our approach is grounded in operator-centered design, rapid iteration from field use, and U.S.-based manufacturing. We operate by a clear set of values: Mission First, Aim Farther, Own It, Win Together. This is how we build advantage and how we help protect our service members, our communities, and our country.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with 5+ years of professional mechanical design experience.
  • Advanced 3D CAD skills in SolidWorks with a strong command of complex assemblies, GD&T, and production ready drawing packages.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering complex electromechanical systems in demanding environments (thermal, vibration, or mechanical shock).
  • Deep familiarity with high-volume manufacturing processes including injection molding, sheet metal, die-casting, and CNC machining.
  • Strong understanding of DFM/DFA/DFT and experience applying these principles to drive manufacturability.
  • Experience with FEA and/or CFD tools for structural, thermal, or fluid analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to articulate technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Background or direct experience with UAVs, aircraft, robotics, or autonomous systems.
  • Experience with advanced materials including carbon fiber composites, high-strength polymers, or lightweight alloys.
  • Hands-on experience co-developing designs with electrical teams, including thermal management of PCBs or wire routing.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as AS9100, DO-160, or FAA Part 107.
  • Experience designing for automated or semi-automated assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of complex mechanical assemblies and systems from concept through production.
  • Own 3D CAD modeling, GD&T, and drawing packages for significant subsystems in SolidWorks.
  • Apply DFM, DFA, and DFT principles rigorously to drive manufacturability and scalability.
  • Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers through technical guidance and hands-on support.
  • Oversee prototype builds, validation testing, and root cause analysis on hardware issues.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to transition designs into scalable production.
  • Drive continuous improvement in system reliability, weight, cost, and assembly efficiency.
  • Support field deployments and product demonstrations, including hands-on debugging of real-world issues.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive BCBS medical, dental, and vision coverage; 80% sponsored by the company.
  • Safe Harbor 401(K) with company match.
  • Paid Parental Leave.
  • A work environment that encourages teamwork and innovation.
