About The Position

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join its rapidly growing Energy Solutions division. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a strong technical background, particularly in HVAC design and commissioning, who can lead all phases of performance contracting projects. The Senior Engineer will be the primary client contact, responsible for identifying opportunities, nurturing relationships, and driving business growth through technical leadership and a data-driven, holistic approach to consulting engineering and zero energy projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm.
• Must have undergrad degree in engineering from ABET accredited university.
• Current work authorization in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Introduce and explain performance contracting to potential clients, identifying opportunities where CMTA’s solutions can provide long-term value.
• Articulate how and why CMTA is unique in our approach to performance contracting, reinforcing our value proposition in both technical and financial terms.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster repeat business, referrals, and long-term partnerships.
• Participate in business development efforts including client meetings, industry events, and proposal development.
• Lead the development phase including site visits, audits, and energy calculations.
• Direct the engineering design team in producing drawings and specifications.
• Direct the bidding process to ensure quality and competitive outcomes.
• Collaborate with the client to finalize the performance contract.
• Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period.
• Direct the commissioning process to validate performance.
• Support the client through the warranty phase as needed.
• Work with our Measurement & Verification (M&V) professional to develop the first-year M&V report.
• Demonstrate knowledge of state specific K-12 design-build procurement processes, ensuring alignment with state and district requirements.
