About The Position

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to transform innovative ideas into high-volume manufacturing reality. The role leads engineering initiatives that take products from the lab to mass production, including the design, commissioning, and continuous improvement of equipment used in the Stack Forging process. It offers significant technical ownership and collaboration across teams to solve manufacturing challenges through root cause analysis in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The position is based onsite in Burlington, Massachusetts. Candidates must be within commuting distance or able to relocate; various relocation packages are available. Sponsorship is not available, and only U.S. citizens and/or permanent residents will be considered. The role may require access to items subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations; an offer may depend on the candidate's ability to obtain and maintain required export authorization or eligibility. The role leads custom manufacturing equipment from concept through production deployment, developing machine architectures and integrated systems to meet performance, reliability, safety, and cost objectives. It works with cross-functional teams and external suppliers, machine builders, and integrators, and supports equipment performance through analysis, testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement. The engineer also maintains production-ready engineering documentation, mentors junior engineers, and contributes to engineering standards and best practices. The stated salary range is $120,000–$165,000, with salary determined by factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market data. The position offers a competitive bonus plan based on individual, group, and corporate performance, as well as a competitive benefits package.
