About The Position

PAR Systems is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing Mechanical Engineering team. This role involves working with Advance Engineering, Manufacturing, Controls, and Software engineers to create innovative custom automation solutions. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a key technical role in shaping the direction of the Mechanical Engineering function, influencing standards, and driving improvements in design and build processes to enhance efficiency, repeatability, and scalability for future projects. The work may contribute to the development of lifesaving medical technology.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in design of automated manufacturing systems, or similar
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling packages
  • Ability to manage system design from concept phase through modeling and detailing on a tight timeline
  • Demonstrated ability to own and drive projects to completion and to consistently deliver on commitments
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites to support installation and commissioning of machinery. 10-25% travel may be required periodically.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Advance Engineering, Manufacturing, Controls, and Software engineers to create innovative custom automation solutions.
  • Use SolidWorks and other CAD modeling tools to bring automation concepts to life.
  • Take a lead role in directing small design teams and providing mentorship.
  • Lead internal and external design review meetings to ensure system design meets PAR's standards and customer/project requirements.
  • Support machine build and checkout activities.
  • Validate new design concepts through proof-of-concept and feasibility studies in the robotics lab.
  • Serve as a key technical voice shaping the direction of the Mechanical Engineering function.
  • Influence standards and drive improvements in equipment design and build processes.
  • Travel to customer sites to support installation and commissioning of machinery (10-25% travel may be required periodically).
