James Moore & Co., P.L.’s HR Solutions team is currently partnering with Bob’s Space Racers in the search for a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Mechanical Engineer . This full-time opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys owning projects from concept to production, mentoring others, and contributing directly to innovative product development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and product development
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and related engineering design tools
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Nice To Haves
- Professional Engineering (PE) certification preferred
- Experience in manufacturing and production environments
- Experience leading engineering projects and mentoring team members
- Knowledge of quality control standards and continuous improvement processes
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems
- Oversee product development projects from concept through production
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Analyze product performance and recommend design improvements
- Support manufacturing operations through troubleshooting and technical expertise
- Collaborate with production, quality control, purchasing, and leadership teams
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and company procedures
- Conduct testing, validation, failure analysis, and prototype evaluations
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technical staff
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities
- Evaluate materials, manufacturing methods, and cost-saving opportunities
- Assist with prototype fabrication and hands-on testing when necessary
- Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation
