About The Position

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline (Master's Degree preferred).
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Minimum 8+ years of experience designing mechanical systems for building projects.
Demonstrated healthcare project experience.
Advanced proficiency in Revit.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design.
Thorough understanding of applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and engineering judgment.
Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple complex engineering projects simultaneously.
Commitment to sustainable, high-performance building design.
Ability to work full-time in the Charlotte office.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and engineering of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for healthcare and commercial building projects.
Develop innovative mechanical solutions that prioritize energy efficiency, sustainability, constructability, and long-term building performance.
Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other design professionals to seamlessly integrate building systems.
Perform engineering calculations, load analyses, energy modeling, and system evaluations to optimize project performance and lifecycle costs.
Prepare detailed construction documents, specifications, and Revit models that meet applicable building codes and industry standards.
Select appropriate mechanical equipment and materials based on project requirements, sustainability goals, and operational efficiency.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams throughout all phases of design and construction.
Review construction progress, respond to RFIs, evaluate submittments, and provide engineering support during construction administration.
Incorporate sustainable design strategies and energy-efficient technologies into every project.
Support project budgeting and collaborate with estimating teams to develop cost-effective engineering solutions.
Mentor junior engineers and designers while providing technical leadership across multiple projects.
Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality, schedule, and client satisfaction.
