About The Position

Westinghouse is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative team focused on providing clean energy solutions. The role involves developing 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials for complex electro-mechanical first-of-a-kind tooling. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring employees to work onsite at one of the Ontario offices (Kitchener, Burlington, or Peterborough) two days per week. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will report to the Manager of Maintenance Tooling Engineering.

Requirements

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
• Bachelor of Engineering from Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
• 5 years of relevant experience
• Understanding of conceptual design development, with design reviews and engineering change control processes

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings and bills of materials for complex electro-mechanical first of a kind tooling
• Assembly and testing of custom equipment through the design evolution from prototype to finished product
• Help develop test procedures for systems to ensure compliance with design specifications
• Help operate the final tooling system in the customer facilities
• Provide technical oversight and mentoring of more junior members of the Engineering team
• Perform both classical hand calculations and analysis (including FEA) to qualify systems and components against applicable codes and standards
