This role is for a Senior Mechanical Engineer within the Property & Buildings M&E team, based in Thornhill or Downtown Toronto. The position involves leading complex HVAC and plumbing designs for high-performance, sustainable buildings in the GTA, influencing multidisciplinary project outcomes, and mentoring junior engineers. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
10+ years of consulting experience in building systems design
Licensed Professional Engineer (PEO) in Ontario
Advanced expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for complex facilities
Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering Data Centre or Science / Laboratory / Pharmaceutical projects in Canada
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary mechanical design teams
Strong proficiency in Revit, IES, and HAP or equivalent mechanical design tools
Solid understanding of applicable codes, standards, and sustainable design principles

Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical design of HVAC, heating/cooling plants, plumbing, and fire protection systems for new and retrofit projects.
Deliver high-quality technical reports, drawings, and specifications aligned with codes and client standards.
Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
Coordinate seamlessly with structural, electrical, architectural, and offshore design teams.
Review and approve mechanical designs to ensure quality, constructability, and performance.
Build trusted client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
