About The Position

T&M Associates is seeking a Senior Staff Designer / Engineer with at least four years of experience to join its MEP Practice at one of its New Jersey offices. The position focuses primarily on plumbing and fire protection engineering for buildings. Work includes designing building systems, preparing construction documents, and providing construction administration services. The role is described as part of a hybrid work environment.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
At least four years of experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems.
Experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and Revit.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
Ability to work in a team environment, self-start, and demonstrate organizational skills.
Willingness to learn new technical fields.

Nice To Haves

EIT Certification or PE License.

Responsibilities

Design plumbing and fire protection systems for buildings, potentially including domestic hot and cold water, sanitary and vent, storm drainage, natural and medical gas, compressed air, sprinkler, fire pump, and clean agent fire suppression systems.
Prepare construction documents, including calculations, drawings, details, and specifications.
Provide construction administration services, including site visits, construction meetings, submittal reviews, and responses to RFIs.
Interact with employees at all levels, especially Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural Engineers.
Work on several projects at once and contribute in a team environment.
