About The Position

The Fired Equipment Engineer designs, develops, implements and analyzes technical products and systems. This role serves as the Point of Contact (POC) for fired equipment support and escalations, involving troubleshooting issues, planning turnarounds, and developing equipment strategy. The position is located onsite in Baton Rouge, LA, within a refinery environment, with 30% field work and 70% office work. A schedule of Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week is anticipated, with potential for overtime as requested by the client. The role is expected to last for one year with a possibility of extension.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of industry experience.
  • 3+ years of fire equipment experience with heaters, boilers, flares.
  • Operation and project delivery background.
  • Proficient in fired simulation software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrates effective communication across several teams.
  • Displays initiative with juggling several priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field.
  • Anticipates and solves problems by integrating knowledge from a number of areas.
  • Bachelor's in mechanical or chemical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, implements, and analyzes technical products and systems.
  • Serves as the POC for fired equipment support and escalations.

  • Plans turnarounds and develops equipment strategy.
  • Performs equipment engineering design evaluations.
  • May develop a range of products.
  • Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
  • Plans and accomplishes goals using experience and judgment.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
  • Owns projects.
  • Represents the local workgroup internally and occasionally externally.
