About The Position
Bantrel is seeking a qualified LNG specialized Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Energy team. This role can be based out of any of Bantrel's offices (Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, or Toronto) or be 100% remote within Canada. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating LNG Tank specifications and data sheets, and will lead LNG Tank design and evaluation. This is a part-time, flexible, 'on-call' role.
Requirements
- A recognized mechanical engineering degree from an accredited university and registration as a Professional Engineer
- 10 to 15 years of relevant LNG Storage Tank design experience
- Knowledge of industry / regulatory codes and standards such as CSA Z276, ASME, ASTM, API 620/625, etc.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in LNG project pressure equipment or in an operating LNG plant is considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Review of LNG Tank deliverables such as data sheets, specifications, material requisitions, etc.
- LNG Tank design and evaluation
- Coordinate assigned work with other technical personnel as required
- Review design documents of equipment manufacturer’s or subcontractors, and prepare comments and recommendations accordingly
- Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data by other engineers / specialists or by suppliers
- Familiar with all engineering department procedures and their application to projects
- Knowledge of design standards and guides applicable to the LNG Storage Tank
