About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) to support the design and delivery of complex pharmaceutical and life sciences manufacturing facility projects. This role functions as a Mechanical Discipline Lead or Area Lead, responsible for HVAC, utilities, and plumbing systems from early design through construction. The position is suited for candidates with experience in engineering consulting or large project delivery environments, who are comfortable leading design efforts while remaining hands-on with engineering deliverables.

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and ten (10) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Mechanical degree or Architectural Engineering degree with focus in mechanical building systems
  • Professional registration (PE License) in mechanical or other relevant engineering field
  • Ability to supervise and lead a diverse design team to work effectively with both internal and external organizations
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience working in an engineering design firm developing mechanical (HVAC, utilities, and plumbing) construction documents for pharmaceutical and life sciences projects

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within engineering, consulting or large project delivery environments
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Practical experience supporting construction, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems
  • Experience coordinating work across multiple engineering disciplines on complex projects

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and coordination of HVAC systems, utilities, and plumbing systems for complex facilities
  • Develop and review project scope, design criteria, and engineering deliverables
  • Prepare and check calculations, specifications, and construction documents in accordance with codes and client requirements
  • Plan and manage discipline work, including estimates, schedules, staffing, and progress tracking
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integrated and constructible designs
  • Support equipment procurement, including vendor data review and technical evaluations
  • Provide engineering support during construction, installation, and commissioning
  • Assist with development of permitting and subcontract packages
  • Serve as a technical resource within areas of expertise
  • Mentor and support engineers and designers
