This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to spend three days a week in the office and work remotely for two days. You will be involved in nuclear power plant systems design, including the preparation or review of modification packages, functional mechanical drawings, engineering analyses, technical specifications, procurement documents, vendor bid evaluations, and studies for plant modifications. Additionally, you will develop engineering cost estimates, visit client offices and plant sites for interface and presentations, and lead engineering project teams. You are expected to lead others in utilizing modern tools like automation and AI to enhance workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs. This includes directing automation and process-improvement work, such as automating calculations, summarizing technical documents, or generating design documentation, and guiding the use of AI or agentic AI tools while ensuring results are checked. Join Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group, a trusted leader since 1954 in nuclear engineering, design, and licensing. The team drives the future of clean, carbon-free energy, with expertise in small modular reactors (SMRs), advanced reactor technology (ART), and commercial reactor restart projects. Work supports life extensions, digital modernization of existing nuclear plants, coal-to-nuclear conversion initiatives, and international new-build projects, all with a commitment to safety, innovation, and sustainability to power communities and reduce emissions.
