About The Position

Maple Reinders Constructors is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager for their Civil construction division in Mississauga, Ontario, with a focus on the Duffin Creek WPCP Biosolids Treatment Replacement project in Pickering, Ontario. This role involves supporting the Project Team in delivering Water and Wastewater construction projects, maintaining contract documentation, assisting with estimating, and preparing budgets and schedules. The position offers experience in various contract types including Design Build, Plan and Spec, and Construction Management. The primary goal is to ensure project profitability, adherence to contract documents, high-quality completion, and a safe jobsite.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry with a general contractor
  • Process mechanical experience is a must.
  • Experience in Water/Wastewater, Energy projects, and civil infrastructure construction
  • A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Civil Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience

  • Professional Designation preferred - P. Eng and/or Gold Seal

Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing project plans and schedules.
  • Selecting suppliers and sub-trades and obtaining quotations.
  • Overseeing M&E activities, functions and resources.
  • Negotiating and clarifying scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers.
  • Managing the submittals and approvals process.
  • Reviewing shop drawings.
  • Setup and orderly management of project administration files.
  • Document control (distribution of drawings & specifications).
  • Involvement in implementing and updating QA/QC in individual projects.
  • Ensuring progress payments are received in a timely manner.
  • Quote and negotiate change orders.
  • Provide M&E support and technical expertise to the Estimating department and proposals department as required.
  • Assisting with project site meetings and sub-trade coordination meetings.
  • Develop effective relationships with current and prospective clients, consultants, realtors, and developers.
  • Preparing budgets and regular cost projection reviews.
  • Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts.
  • Ensures all required permits and licenses are obtained.
